About The Position

This is a full-time role for an LPN Specialist in Oncology. The position involves identifying and evaluating patient needs through telephone triage, administering medications including injections, and documenting patient care. The specialist will also identify and address patient and family education needs, acquire relevant specialty credentials, adhere to nursing policies for medical record documentation, and facilitate patient flow within the physician's office. Responding to emergency situations is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
  • Hold an active Florida state license.
  • Additional Credentials/licenses pertinent to the specialty.
  • One-year experience in a health care facility.
  • CPR certification within 3 months of employment.
  • For Xpress Care LPNS only, IV certification required within 3 months of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and evaluates patient needs by way of telephone triage.
  • Administers medication including injections; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physician as required by specialty.
  • Identifies patient and family education needs and provides instruction.
  • Acquires additional credentials/licenses pertinent to the specialty.
  • Adheres to nursing policy and procedures when documenting information in patient’s medical record.
  • Facilitates the flow of patients to maintain the integrity of the physician’s office.
  • Recognizes and responds to emergency situations as appropriate.
