About The Position

This job is considered a leader in the provision of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. Administers nursing care under the guidelines of a school system. Participates in the implementation and evaluation of student care. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of students.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years either clinic or hospital based care experience.
  • LPN licensure from and accredited school of practical nursing in state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to work with a remote leader and team while building connections with the frontline school where assigned.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years pediatrics experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administers nursing care within a school system.
  • Uses the nursing process effectively in the delivery of patient/student care and escalates needs and concerns.
  • Educates based on learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of the patient, family and other groups or disciplines.
  • Utilizes data, information and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improvement in the profession of nursing.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
