About The Position

This role involves providing daily care, health needs, safety, and comfort for residents. The nurse will ensure restorative nursing care measures are performed as indicated and ordered. Key responsibilities include maintaining open communication with nursing management regarding the nursing unit's conditions and concerns related to staff, residents, and visitors. The nurse will also explain treatment goals and expectations to residents and their families to gain feedback and cooperation, supervise and manage personnel on their unit, and review medication systems and clinical records to ensure proper maintenance and updates. Additionally, the nurse will review daily assignments of nursing staff to ensure duties align with abilities and training, and assist and instruct nursing staff on special treatments and nursing care.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Possess a valid RN or LPN license in good standing according to State and Federal requirements.

Responsibilities

Provides for the daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of the resident.
Assures that restorative nursing care measures are performed as indicated and ordered.
Maintains open communication with nursing management regarding conditions on the nursing unit and concerns related to staff, residents and visitors.
Explains treatment goals and expectations to the resident and family, in an effort to obtain feedback and cooperation.
Supervises/manages personnel on his/her unit.
Reviews medication system, clinical records, in order to verify that medical records are properly maintained and updated.
Reviews daily assignments of nursing staff on the unit to assure that assigned duties are consistent with ability and training.
Assists and instructs nursing staff on unit in special treatments and nursing care.
