About The Position

Nurses provide for the daily care, health needs, safety, and comfort of residents. This includes ensuring restorative nursing care measures are performed as indicated and ordered. Nurses are responsible for maintaining open communication with nursing management regarding conditions on the nursing unit and concerns related to staff, residents, and visitors. They explain treatment goals and expectations to residents and their families to obtain feedback and cooperation. Nurses also supervise and manage personnel on their unit, review medication systems and clinical records to ensure proper maintenance and updates, and review daily assignments of nursing staff to ensure duties are consistent with abilities and training. Additionally, they assist and instruct nursing staff on the unit in special treatments and nursing care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Possess a valid RN or LPN license in good standing according to State and Federal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide for the daily care, health needs, safety, and comfort of the resident.
  • Assure that restorative nursing care measures are performed as indicated and ordered.
  • Maintain open communication with nursing management regarding conditions on the nursing unit and concerns related to staff, residents, and visitors.
  • Explain treatment goals and expectations to the resident and family, in an effort to obtain feedback and cooperation.
  • Supervise/manage personnel on his/her unit.
  • Review medication system and clinical records to verify that medical records are properly maintained and updated.
  • Review daily assignments of nursing staff on the unit to assure that assigned duties are consistent with ability and training.
  • Assist and instruct nursing staff on unit in special treatments and nursing care.
