About The Position

This is a full-time position (36 hours/week) on the inpatient rehabilitation facility located on the third floor at Freeman Hospital East. The unit has 20 beds and serves patients with strokes, lower extremity fractures, non-traumatic spinal cord injuries, amputations, cardiac, and trauma/medically complex conditions. All patients are required to participate in 3 hours of therapy per day, 5 out of the 7 days in the week. The department emphasizes a team-oriented approach to care and provides the opportunity to closely follow patient progress.

Requirements

  • Current Missouri Practical Nurse License or Current Practical Nurse License from a Compact State. If a Compact License is held, it must be in the Nurse's State of Residence.
  • If no experience as an RN or LPN in a hospital setting or it has been more than 5 years since last worked in a hospital setting, nurses must successfully pass Patient Care Orientation (PCO) within 30 days.
  • AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 60 days.
  • RN Competency Day Annually by transcript due date.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of a Professional RN, participates in the systematic and continual assessment of the physical, emotional, clinical, and psychosocial needs of assigned patients and families.
  • Plans and implements appropriate interventions.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions and adjusts the plan as indicated in a timely manner.
  • Provides safe and effective care.
