About The Position

Marymount Hospital is an acute care, faith-based hospital serving Garfield Heights and the Southeast communities of Cuyahoga County. The Post Surgical Unit provides general medical care and pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures. The units also treat patients with congestive heart failure, chest tubes, wound VACs, and endocrinology disorders. Care is delivered by a multidisciplinary team, with individual attention and support for patients’ recovery.

As an LPN, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population. This position offers hands-on nursing experience and access to educational resources within the Cleveland Clinic system. The schedule is nights, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with every-other-weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing Program.
• Current Ohio licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

Nice To Haves

• One year of patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect, document, and report patient data and observations to the RN or authorized directing health care provider.
• Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
• Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
• Perform routine laboratory tests.
• Educate patients and family members.
• Participate positively in departmental orientation for new employees; share knowledge and experiences, and provide guidance when assigned.
