About The Position

Essentia Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant to serve in the behavioral health clinic at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainer, Minnesota. This LPN or CMA works four 8-hour days, Monday through Friday, with one weekday off. No weekend, holiday, or on-call rotations are required. A $2500 sign-on incentive is available for this position. Requirements

  • LPN: current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state, of Minnesota upon hire.
  • CMA: current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant OR verifiable completion of a Medical Assistant Program and must become certified within one year of date of hire. Must pass certification within two attempts.
  • AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Education/certification with de-escalation & crisis intervention training provided & to be completed within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assists RN, Physician and other providers and provides direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health.
  • Will perform identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated.
  • Cares for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted on age-related category.
  • You will assist the team in the Behavioral Health clinic (including RN, clinicians, & other clinic staff) in providing direct patient care in the psychiatric ambulatory care setting.
  • You are responsible to provide high-quality patient care through direct patient care, working within the medical records, coordinating with interdisciplinary team (with some virtual components), scheduling tasks, and other clinic specific tasks within your practicing scope.
