About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides care and services to Occupational Health patients in a high volume, moderate acuity ambulatory care clinic setting. This role involves collaboration with various staff to facilitate patient recovery and conducting physicals according to specific corporate, DOT, and OSHA requirements. The LPN represents Piedmont Healthcare and must maintain the highest image and standards. Responsibilities include providing holistic nursing care to adult patients within the guidelines of Piedmont Healthcare and the State of Georgia, administering medications as ordered by a Physician, and potentially working without direct supervision at an onsite customer location. The position requires demonstrating population-specific competencies, including age-specific care, cultural sensitivity, and patient-centered communication.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
  • 1 year experience in an occupational health setting.
  • License as LPN in Georgia required.
  • Must perform to maximum level of licensure (e.g., LPN must develop skills in medication administration within orientation/cross-training period).
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care and services to Occupational Health patients.
  • Collaborate with clinical, technical, clerical, administrative, and support staff to facilitate patient care and progress through the recovery process.
  • Conduct physicals according to specific requirements established by individual corporations and DOT (Department of Transportation), OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).
  • Communicate and interact with health care management at the corporate level, such as benefits managers and workers compensation coordinators.
  • Maintain the highest image and standards as the position represents Piedmont Healthcare.
  • Provide holistic nursing care in a high volume, moderate acuity ambulatory care clinic setting (Occupational Health) to patients, adult, within the guidelines of Piedmont Healthcare and the State of Georgia for Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Administer medications according to department policy and as ordered by the Physician.
  • Demonstrate population-specific competencies (e.g., age-specific, cultural sensitivity, patient-centered communication) in performance of role.
