Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of Licensed Practical Nurse Educational Program
1 year clinical experience preferred.
For OB/GYN department: 2 years clinical OB/GYN experience required
Completion of accredited program for Licensed Practical Nursing.
Current LPN license, ongoing and current BLS.
Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking.
Assists with lifting and moving patients.
Lifts supplies/equipment.
Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching.
Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated or ventilated facility.
Routine exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks.
Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment.
Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking.
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks.
Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility.
Ability to multi-task.
Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled.
Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations.
May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.

Responsibilities

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) work to promote health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illness, improving the health of our community by providing exceptional healthcare.
They are advocates and health educators for patients, families, and communities.
When providing direct patient care, they record symptoms, reactions, and progress; assist physicians during treatments and examinations; administer medications; and assist in convalescence and rehabilitation.
The LPN is integral in linking patients, their families, and their healthcare teams, fostering collaboration amongst all.
Providing quality patient-centered care to ensure that patient/family needs are addressed including physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
