About The Position

7 Surgical is a 26 bed General Surgical/Medical floor that cares for general surgery patients, as well as overflow from our sister 2 Surgical floor. This role functions in accordance with the professional standards of the Ohio board of nursing, delivers effective relationship-based nursing care, and demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes. The position requires clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations, and develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing. The role also displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes. Additional responsibilities include performing other duties as assigned, complying with all policies and standards, and abiding by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.

Requirements

  • Completion of accredited practical nurse program or currently enrolled in a nursing program.
  • 2+ years Nursing Experience (Level II only)
  • Knowledge of LPN scope of practice according to the Ohio board of nursing.
  • Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices).
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)

Nice To Haves

  • Level II Only: 18 CNE's per year. • 3 CNE’s in clinical specialty • At least 5 CNE’s in Leadership • Other CNE requirements will be agreed upon with manager
  • Level II Only: • 3 Peer Reviews. • Committee Involvement. • 5 criteria with evidence of each.
