About The Position

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a LPN/MA/EMT to join their Urgent Care team. This role involves providing care for patients, which may include escorting them to exam rooms, documenting vital information, preparing and administering medications and immunizations as directed by a clinician or RN, performing and assisting with procedures and treatments, and ensuring all components of the standard rooming process are completed. The position requires maintaining knowledge of and complying with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards. The Urgent Care department strives to provide high-quality care in a timely and consistent manner and fosters a healthy workplace environment where individuals can approach each other respectfully to offer praise, provide feedback, or have difficult conversations. Applicants must be able to work in a fast-paced department.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.
Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing.
Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable.
Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by “The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
High school diploma or GED
Must meet one of the following: Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program or currently registered as a pharmacy technician with one or more years pharmacy technician experience OR Graduate of an accredited EMT program and current Minnesota EMT License

Nice To Haves

3+ years of healthcare experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).

Responsibilities

Escorting patients to exam rooms and appropriately documenting necessary visit information and vitals such as height, weight, and blood pressure.
Preparing and administering medications, and immunizations as directed by a clinician, RN or following standing orders.
Perform and assist with procedures and treatments as directed by the clinician, such as administering, ear lavage, EKG’s, and bladder scans.
Ensuring all the components are of the standard rooming process are completed including medication reconciliation and pending refills, allergy review, immunization reconciliation, completion of appropriate forms and questionnaires to support clinical quality.
Maintaining knowledge of, and complying with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures, and standards.
