About The Position

This position involves providing optimal, direct patient care and demonstrating sound decision-making skills. The role requires effective communication with all members of the health care team regarding patient care needs. Responsibilities include contributing to timely and efficient patient admission, transfer, and discharge, as well as providing appropriate patient education. The LPN will administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the primary care provider and document patient status accurately, pertinently, and concisely. Additionally, the role involves assisting with updating care plans and delegating patient care tasks to non-licensed health care team members based on their validated competency.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and competency in performing baseline nursing skills.
  • Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.
  • Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
  • Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.
  • Graduate of an accredited trade or vocational school of nursing.
  • One year relevant experience, new graduates accepted based upon position availability.
  • Current New Mexico Nurse License and BLS certification required.
