About The Position
Michael’s House is currently seeking a Per Diem Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) responsible for monitoring patients’ medical needs, coordinating outside medical appointments. Supervises patients, as they self-administer medications, adheres to all documentation standards, tracks TB skins tests, monitors random drug screens, transcribes and follows up on doctors’ orders. Assists psychiatrist/nurse practitioner/physician’s assistant in providing incidental medical services as needed. The ideal candidate will have the ability to inspire our clients’ confidence in both our staff and the FRN Model of Treatment by exhibiting a high level of both knowledge and compassion. Requirements
- Licensure: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT).
- At least one year working within a healthcare facility preferred.
- Experience working with patients diagnosed with co-occurring disorders strongly preferred.
- Sound knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in work processing, spreadsheets, and presentations (MS Word, Excel, EMR, TIER or similar and Microsoft Office Suite) required.
Responsibilities
- Monitors medication process for individuals living in residential facilities including supervision or medication distribution, supervising self-administration process.
- Prepares medication Administration Record (MAR)
- Obtains, stores and monitors medications according to policy and procedure
- Meets quality, quantity, and timeliness of expectations of accuracy, completeness, volume consistent with peers and relative to time in position, completing work as schedule, demonstrating self-paced performance and adjusting priorities as needed and is responsive to feedback.
