About The Position
Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to support the Primary Care team at the Dayton VA Medical Center. This is more than a nursing job. Every patient you care for is a Veteran who served our country, and you will be a vital part of the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) that keeps them healthy, supported, and heard.
Requirements
- Graduation from a practical nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of completion
- Current, full, and unrestricted Ohio LPN license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (ACLS required if assigned to a specialty clinic)
- Minimum of one (1) year of direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary Primary Care team
- Obtain patient and family histories, assist with assessments, and help plan appropriate nursing care
- Carry out provider orders and document all care accurately in the electronic health record
- Administer treatments and monitor and document patient responses to medications
- Educate patients and families on prescribed medications, therapies, and procedures
- Operate EKG machines, cardiac monitors, and other clinical equipment as needed
- Recognize emergencies and initiate appropriate lifesaving measures
