About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources, in partnership with TeamHealth, is seeking a Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN) for an excellent opportunity at the Clark County Jail in Springfield, Ohio. The LPN will be responsible for providing correctional medical care to inmates housed at the facility. This position offers full-time day or part-time opportunities and involves caring for an adult population. The role emphasizes providing a range of medical care, including primary, addiction, urgent, and behavioral health services. This position is unique as it is free from coding, billing, insurance, satisfaction surveys, ICD-10, and DRGS. The care provided is evidence-based, addressing patient needs rather than wants. The role offers exposure to a vast array of medical pathologies not typically seen in other healthcare settings. It is a socially meaningful position, serving a socially marginalized population that often lacks ordinary access to medical care due to factors like lack of insurance, mental illness, or homelessness, making it ideal for those interested in addiction medicine or mental health. The position allows for a large degree of medical autonomy, free from micromanagement, with extensive nursing guidelines in place. It is also considered safer than many other healthcare settings due to prohibitions on weapons, the handling of controversial inmates by correctional staff, disciplinary actions for disruptive behavior, and the ability to stop and restart visits. Spectrum Healthcare Resources has over thirty-five years of experience providing innovative and cost-effective solutions for federal agencies, holding themselves to the highest standards to ensure successful outcomes for the facilities and healthcare professionals they serve. As a Joint Commission Certified Healthcare Resource, dependability and service are central to their mission.
