Requirements

Current LPN license from the State of Oklahoma required.
Current BLS required.
ALS is required within six (6) months of employment
De-escalation (TEAM) training required within six (6) months.
1 year Full or Part-time (greater than 20 hours per week) hospital-based experience required.
Basic computer skills required.

Nice To Haves

It is strongly recommended that the LPN continue their nursing education and pursue RN licensure.

Responsibilities

Performs the functions of LPN in implementing and evaluating nursing care for all assigned patient care in collaboration with a registered nurse.
Must practice within the scope of practice as described by the State of Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
Participates in the modification of the plan of care by collaborating with other members of the multidisciplinary team with consideration of the developmental needs of the patient.
Participates in the evaluation of the patient’s response to interventions based upon predicted outcome.
Reassesses the patient as defined in the Nursing Standards of Care Policy and modifies the plan of care as needed.
Contributes to the assessment of the patient by conducting focused assessments of the patient.
Collects data and compares the data collected to the patient’s previous condition and documents/reports as appropriate.
