About The Position

Team Health and Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an excellent opportunity for a Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN) at Logan County Jail in Bellefountaine, Ohio. The LPN will be providing Correctional Medical care for those housed at the Shelby County Jail. This is a full-time position with 12-hour shifts from 7 am to 7 pm, including every other weekend, serving an adult population. The role involves providing a range of medical care, including primary, addiction, urgent, and behavioral health care. The position offers a large degree of medical autonomy, is free from micromanaging, and has extensive nursing guidelines in place. It is considered safer than most other healthcare settings due to strict rules regarding weapons, inmate behavior, and visit management. The work is socially meaningful, addressing the needs of a socially marginalized population that lacks ordinary access to medical care.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by a state agency or accredited by the ACEN
• A minimum of 12 months of experience in a primary care setting within the last 24 months
• Active, unrestricted OH LPN license
• BLS from the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Provide a range of medical care to include primary, addiction, urgent and behavioral health care
• Address needs, not wants, with evidence-based care
• Manage a vast array of medical pathology
• Work with a socially marginalized population lacking ordinary access to medical care
