About The Position

This is a part-time position for an LPN in the Impact Program/VBOE Impact Day. The role involves travel to multiple locations using one's own vehicle. The schedule is Tuesday 7AM-2:30PM, Wednesday 7AM-2:30PM, and Thursday 7AM-1:30PM. This is a non-exempt position responsible for nursing care under the supervision of physicians and the clinical services manager. Duties may include basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, routine blood draws, administering immunizations and injections, performing point-of-care testing, and conducting EKGs. The LPN will provide care consistent with Inspira policies and external regulations and requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an approved practical nursing program.
  • Minimum one year of LPN experience.
  • State-licensed practical nurse.
  • American Heart Healthcare Provider CP.
  • Able to operate multi-line phone system.
  • Able to update and modify EMR records on computer.
  • Understand medical charting.
  • Able to operate stethoscope, echocardiography (EKG) machine, ear-washing instruments, blood pressure cuff, speculums, and other nursing items.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
  • Familiarity with health care systems, regulations, policies, and functions.
  • Understanding of documentation standards.
  • Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and materials needed for medical treatment.
  • Understanding of basic laboratory procedures including preparation and screening.
  • Knowledge of infectious disease management and control and safety standards.
  • Skill in reading and following written and oral medical orders.
  • Skill in initiating appropriate emergency procedures.
  • Skill in handling a number of tasks simultaneously.
  • Skill in performing blood draws.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience in a medical practice environment strongly preferred.
  • May involve use of walkers, wheelchairs, pulse oximetry, and oxygen tanks.
