About The Position

Under the direct supervision of assigned physician(s), responsible for the provision of professional, quality medical care to patients based on structured guidelines and protocols. Supports the physician and other medical providers in the care and treatment of patients through a variety of means including rooming the patient, taking vital signs, collecting and recording data, communicating delays to patient, provider and team members and facilitating patient flow. Facilitates, communicates and collaborates with the physician and office team to identify and meet the physical and emotional needs of the patient and to promote/restore optimal health and well-being of the patient. Performs a wide variety of patient care support activities including scheduling ordered tests and exams, scheduling surgery and obtaining pre-authorizations from insurance carriers. Assumes lead responsibility for the safety program of the practice, maintenance of established documentation standards by clinical support staff, and validation of clinical competencies. Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • 1 year experience in medical office or ambulatory services/outpatient clinic setting
  • License Practical Nurse, LPN license to practice in Colorado or Kansas
  • Basic Life Support from American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • IV Therapy, State IV certification upon hire or within three months of hire/transfer
