About The Position

The LPN facilitates quality patient care within the scope of licensure. This position will be assigned to the University Medical Center Pediatrics Clinic. Partners with other clinical staff and providers to ensure medical students, residents and other learners academic and clinical experience prepares them to succeed in their post education endeavors. Supports the enterprise services division of the college, including Health Informatics, Medical Billing, Medical Records and others to ensure patient billing and documentation are complete and accurate and follow all HIPPA and other regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Alabama in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience using an electronic health record system in a previous learning or employed role.
• Ability to work flexible hours, to include weekday evening hours.
• Ability to perform patient care as directed by a physician, nurse practitioner or other qualified medical professional.
• Efficient and accurate computer and data entry skills.
• Excellent communication, public relations and customer service and telephone etiquette skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment.
• Understanding of the need for strict confidentiality of protected health information and the requirement to follow HIPAA regulations at all times.
• Punctual and reliable.
