About The Position

The LPN-Expanded II provides patient care as directed by a professional registered nurse and is accountable for their own actions under this direction. This role involves administering intravenous therapy in accordance with state board of nursing rules, regulations, and position statements. The LPN is expected to foster a caring relationship that promotes health and healing, delivering care in a manner that upholds patient autonomy, dignity, and rights. Additionally, the LPN-Expanded II performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

TN - 6 months experience required
AR – meets minimum IV therapy training requirements according to BON
TN - successful completion of intravenous therapy training according to BON
MS – successful completion of education and training provided by an IV integrated accredited nursing program or Board approved IV therapy course
Computer literacy
BLS CERTIFICATION WITHIN 14 DAYS OF HIRE
LPN licensure
MS-IV Certification required
TN & AR-IV course/training as defined by the state boards of nursing

Responsibilities

Communicates and collaborates with professional registered nurse
Collects patient data.
Assists in planning patient care.
Assists in implementing patient care as directed.
Assists with evaluating the plan of care.
Administers medication as prescribed.
Administers intravenous medications according to State Board of Nursing rules and regulations.
Performs intravenous therapy according to State Board of Nursing rules and regulations.
Provides and reinforces the teaching of individuals and groups of patients.
Participates in activities designed to improve health care delivery.
Participates in ongoing educational activities.
Completes assigned goals.
