The role involves providing direct patient care, participating in care planning and evaluation, patient and family education, and discharge planning. The LPN will also delegate and supervise unlicensed personnel, prioritize patient care, document interventions and responses, and provide patient reports. The position requires a commitment to patient safety, ethical care, and medication administration. The LPN will assess pain levels, perform triage, identify and initiate safety plans for abuse victims, complete mandated reporting, collect forensic evidence, and maintain knowledge of disaster policies. The role also involves identifying patients at risk for violent behavior and understanding the use of restraints. The LPN will monitor laboratory and diagnostic results and identify cardiac arrhythmias.
