About The Position
Under the supervision of a registered nurse, a licensed practical nurse will provide for the emergent and non-emergent care of patients who present to the Emergency Department at Uintah Basin Medical Center.

- Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, administration and staff.
- Represents the organization positively and professionally in the community.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
- Current Utah State Practical Nurse license required.
- PALS, ACLS, and CPR certifications required within 1 year of hire.
Nice To Haves
- One year of Med/Surg experience or equivalent preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform admission assessment, record patient data in the medical record.
- Provide report to Emergency Department physician and Charge RN.
- Order laboratory and x-ray exams
- Check equipment on a daily basis.
- Complete inventory check daily, order supplies.
- Provide patient care based on the Utah Nurse Practice Act.
- Licensed Practical Nurses may start IVs on pediatric patients after the successful completion of PALS and under the direction of the Emergency Department Charge Nurse.
- Supervise and monitor care provided by Certified Nurse Aids and ED techs.
- Review charts, prepare charges for submission.
- Housekeeping duties as needed.
- Assist with QCI data.
