About The Position

Camas Health Recovery Center is seeking an LPN to join their team in a Dispensary Nurse role, supporting and advancing their person-centered approach to OUD (Opioid Use Disorder) treatment. They combine medication, counseling, and support services intended to maximize positive patient outcomes using proven, evidence-based treatment methodologies. Their goal is to help people get treatment, remain in treatment, avoid relapse, and build the skills necessary for long-term recovery. The Dispensary Nurse position is responsible for the safe and efficient dispensing of doses of methadone to clients, consistent with the clinic procedures. The Dispensary Nurse will report directly to the Dispensary Manager. The OTP Dispensary Nurse should adhere to and value the philosophical priorities of the HARM Reduction Model, that Medication Assisted Treatment is the preferred method of addressing opioid addiction and that every patient deserves to be treated with respect, compassion and dignity.

Requirements

Graduates of an accredited school of nursing
Current Washington State Nurses License
LPN with a medications license
Obtain and maintain a Level 3 Kalispel Tribe of Indians Work Permit.
Computer literate, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic medical records systems, as well as a high level of initiative in keeping current with technological change.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, clients, and outside contacts from a wide variety of ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds; good diplomatic skills, including strong conflict-resolution skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Conducts all business activities in a professional and ethical manner.
Complies with and up-to-date with all other testing, screening and credentialing as required.
Ability to travel as needed (minimal).

Nice To Haves

Coursework in the behavioral sciences is desired
Previous experience with drug abuse treatment is not required.
Work experience in the behavioral sciences field and in the area of chemical dependency treatment is desired.

Responsibilities

Follows all clinic policies and procedures.
Ensures security of medications, patient records and any other documentation required by the MSO, the FDA, DEA and/or state agencies.
Ensures that the clinic protects the rights and confidentiality of all patients to provide each patient with the required medical and clinical care.
Dispense appropriate medication doses, in accordance with the clinic procedures.
Record all doses dispensed and account for all medication used during Dispensary shift.
Organize and monitor the activities of the Dispensary Technician as requested by the Lead Dispensary Technician or Dispensary Manager.
Participate in all meetings as requested or required and provide such data as needed by the team for inclusion of medical treatment plan.
Monitor charts for dose discrepancies and take corrective action when needed.
Monitor tuberculosis testing for all patients and assigned units, including making outside referrals when appropriate.
Maintain a strong policy knowledge of all applicable federal, state, and local rules, laws and regulations and maintains compliance.
Knowledge and compliance with HIPAA policies and procedures.
Participate in Federal and State substance abuse training and continuing education as needed to safely and effectively perform in the position.
Interacts with all staff in a positive and motivational fashion supporting the company’s mission and Best Practice Patient Experience.
