About The Position

This role involves utilizing the nursing process to provide patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, within the LPN scope of practice. The position requires collaboration with healthcare providers to coordinate medical and nursing management, performing emergency treatments, maintaining documentation, communicating effectively, and promoting patient and staff safety. The LPN/CMA will perform various nursing assessments, administer medications and treatments, educate patients and families, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

LPN scope of practice
LPN-C scope of practice for intravenous interventions
Ability to perform complete admission evaluation
Ability to perform comprehensive nursing assessments
Ability to conduct full body system analysis
Ability to administer and perform nursing assessment in accordance with applicable patient type
Ability to review, discuss, and implement health care provider orders
Ability to respond to patient needs in a timely fashion
Ability to recognize abnormal symptoms/changes in patient condition, establish priorities, and take appropriate action
Ability to serve as a patient advocate
Ability to perform patient rounding
Ability to evaluate patient progress toward desired outcomes prior to discharge
Ability to demonstrate personal accountability in the delivery of patient care
Ability to collaborate with health care providers
Ability to work effectively with ancillary areas
Ability to demonstrate initiative and flexibility
Ability to inform and involve Nurse Manager regarding patient care issues
Ability to complete patient and family education
Ability to perform emergency treatment

Ability to administer and perform emergent care

Ability to document accurate and ongoing assessments of patient status

Ability to utilize proper body mechanics, transfer/lifting techniques
Ability to implement infectious disease controls
Ability to follow proper procedures for disposal of sharps and hazardous materials

Responsibilities

Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care.
Performs complete admission evaluations and comprehensive nursing assessments.
