About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Paramedic plays a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a busy orthopedic clinic. This role supports physicians and advanced practice providers while helping patients feel informed, cared for, and confident in their treatment plan. Requirements

  • Current LPN license (Minnesota) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Paramedic certified
  • Strong clinical skills and comfort in a fast-paced environment
  • Confidence working directly with providers and patients
  • Ability to stay calm, organized, and professional under pressure
  • Reliable attendance and strong teamwork mindset
  • Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited Medical Assisting program or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certfied
  • Must be CPR Certified
  • At least one year’s experience as LPN, CMA, EMT, Paramedic in a clinic setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of nursing principles and protocols, especially related to orthopedics.
  • Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, patients and families.
  • Skills in communicating effectively with patients, families, physicians and staff.
  • Skills in tactfully demonstrating compassion and caring when dealing with others.
  • Skills in assessment techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in orthopedics or urgent care is a plus (not required)

Responsibilities

  • Room patients; obtain vitals, height/weight, and medical histories
  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures
  • Assist with dressings, suture removal, pin removal, injections, aspirations, and sterile procedures
  • Administer IM medications and perform lab draws as directed
  • Respond to emergency situations
  • Support physicians and APPs during procedures and patient visits
  • Perform telephone triage, patient education, and scheduling support
  • Communicate clearly with patients in person and over the phone
  • Keep exam rooms clean, stocked, and ready for patient care
  • Dispose of materials per OSHA and clinic safety policies
  • Accurately document in the EHR
  • Enter clinical data, phone call notes, labs, and patient updates
  • Support smooth clinic operations through teamwork and reliability
