This position participates in the care of patients under the supervision of the manager/director and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. The LPN will measure and record vital signs, identify abnormal values, and report findings to the appropriate medical provider. They will also participate in clinic flow, assist with patient arrival, procedures, scheduling, and ensure a smooth patient exit. The role involves preparing patients for examination, observing for signs of abuse/neglect, responding to emergencies, and performing non-complex procedures. Responsibilities include providing for patient comfort, preparing and cleaning equipment, administering prescribed medications and vaccinations, collecting and securing specimens, performing point of care testing, maintaining medication inventory, and ensuring proper storage and disposal of medications. The LPN will document clinical tasks, testing, and procedures in the patient medical record, complete paperwork including quality control procedures, and maintain patient privacy. They will navigate the Electronic Medical Record to obtain results, update patient data, and schedule appointments. The role also includes preparing safety reports, assisting colleagues, consulting with the clinic manager, and maintaining patient confidentiality. Additionally, the LPN will assist with compliance to safety, environmental, infection control, quality improvement, and other regulatory standards, ensure patient safety, maintain a clean working environment, implement precautions, perform hand hygiene, report safety hazards, and participate in quality improvement processes and clinic preparation. They may operate equipment and obtain medical records from outside facilities. The LPN will also answer and route telephone calls.
