About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a key member of the care delivery team, responsible for providing direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN). The LPN communicates patient and team needs, collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, takes direction from the RN, and delegates appropriately to other team members. This role involves promoting and restoring patient health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians, performing treatment procedures, and providing support to patients and their families.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Practical Nursing or equivalent required.
• Current licensure in State of New York as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

Responsibilities

• Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; perform various treatment procedures; provide physical, educational and emotional support to patients, friends and families; supervise assigned team members.
• Administer medication and give/receive relevant reports, both written and verbal from/to appropriate staff as per departmental protocols.
• Ensure concise, pertinent and complete documentation using computerized medical record process.
• Ensure clinical areas are properly supplied and exam rooms are available and stocked.
