About The Position

The LPN Ambulatory works in the Ob/Gyn Unit at Cleveland Clinic’s Strongsville Family Health and Surgery Center, providing specialized care for women, including prenatal care, preventive health screenings, and general gynecology. The work is primarily hands-on and includes assisting with procedures. Care may involve patients experiencing infertility, gynecologic cancer, and other sensitive conditions, making compassion and empathy important. This is a PRN role with shifts scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of Practical Nursing.
• Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

• One year of patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care activities under the direction of an RN, physician, optometrist, and/or podiatrist.
• Collect and document objective and subjective patient data and observations.
• Complete nursing assessments and report all data.
• Implement the current nursing care plan, medication, or treatment, and communicate patients’ responses.
• Observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
• Perform routine laboratory tests.
• Educate patients and family members.
• Participate in the departmental orientation of new employees, share knowledge, and provide guidance when assigned.
