About The Position

As part of Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital, the Bath Health and Wellness Center offers primary care and specialty services in a welcoming, supportive environment. Its Pain Management Services help patients identify the source of pain and return to a productive lifestyle as soon as medically possible. The interdisciplinary service combines care from local specialists with expertise from Cleveland Clinic’s Department of Anesthesiology to provide comprehensive, specialized care in one location.

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or physician. The role includes gathering and documenting patient information, completing nursing assessments, carrying out the current care plan and treatments, monitoring patient responses, performing routine laboratory tests, and educating patients and family members. This is a full-time, day-shift position with one of the stated schedules: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No weekends or holidays are required at this time.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of practical nursing.
• Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.

Nice To Haves

• One year of patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or physician.
• Collect and document objective and subjective patient data and observations.
• Complete nursing assessments and report all data.
• Implement the current nursing care plan, medication, or treatment and communicate patients’ responses.
• Observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
• Perform routine laboratory tests.
• Educate patients and family members.
