About The Position

Provides safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients and families using the nursing process to assist them in attaining, maintaining, regaining, and sustaining optimal health status. Functions in accordance with the professional standards of the Ohio Board of Nursing. Completes and submits required documentation. Delivers effective relationship-based nursing care. Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes. Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations. Develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing. Displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards. Specific duties and responsibilities are provided during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures address the appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Requirements

  • Completion of accredited practical nurse program or currently enrolled in a nursing program.
  • 2+ years Nursing Experience (Level II only).
  • Knowledge of LPN scope of practice according to the Ohio board of nursing.
  • Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (i.e. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices).
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License Required Upon Hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required Upon Hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Level II Only: 18 CNE's per year.
  • Level II Only: 3 CNE's in clinical specialty.
  • Level II Only: At least 5 CNE's in Leadership.
  • Level II Only: Other CNE requirements will be agreed upon with manager.
  • Level II Only: 3 Peer Reviews.
  • Level II Only: Committee Involvement.
  • Level II Only: 5 criteria with evidence of each.
