This role is more than a job. It involves participating in the care of patients under the supervision and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. Responsibilities include measuring and recording vital signs, identifying abnormal values, reporting findings, and participating in clinic flow. The position also involves preparing patients for examinations, observing for signs of abuse/neglect, responding to emergencies, performing non-complex procedures, providing for patient comfort, handling clinic equipment, administering medications and vaccinations, collecting and preparing specimens, and performing point-of-care testing. Documentation in the patient medical record, maintaining patient privacy, navigating the Electronic Medical Record, and preparing safety reports are also key aspects of this role. Additionally, the LPN will consult with the clinic manager, maintain patient confidentiality, assist with compliance to safety and infection control standards, implement precautions, ensure patient safety, maintain a clean environment, report safety hazards, and participate in quality improvement processes. Clerical support includes gathering clinical documentation, using office equipment, obtaining medical records from outside facilities, and answering/routing telephone calls.
