About The Position

The 2 North Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Canonsburg Hospital is a 16-bed unit providing comprehensive and individualized rehabilitation services. The team includes Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, and a Unit Secretary who collaborate with Therapy partners to help patients regain function, independence, and improve quality of life after illness, injury, or surgery. The unit focuses on a holistic approach, ensuring personalized care tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals. Requirements

  • High School/GED
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
  • CPR – American Heart Association
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year in healthcare
  • PALS or ACLS
  • State approved IV course certification.
  • Knowledge of EPIC documentation and assessment process

Responsibilities

  • Performs general nursing care within the LPN scope of practice.
  • Assists with the preparation of equipment and assists the clinical provider (registered nurse, advanced practice nurse and/or physician) during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
  • Collects assessment data, prepares patient for examination and documents clinical information on patient record and reports any changes in patients condition to the registered nurse, advanced practice nurse or physician.
  • Orders diagnostic tests as directed by the clinical provider (registered nurse, advanced practice nurse and/or physician) and gathers diagnostic tests and/or examines results prior to physician/clinical provider assessment.
  • Schedules procedures and obtains authorizations, as necessary, under the direction/oversight of the registered nurse. Assists nursing and medical staff with basic medical tasks such as administering medications, blood and tissue collection and/or other laboratory specimens; prepare patients for testing.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.
