About The Position

Exciting new opportunity to start and to join an innovative, community-based behavioral health and intellectual/developmental disabilities services organization located in South Georgia. Georgia Pines Community Service Board is a public, not-for-profit organization with an annual budget of $25M and a diverse workforce of 300 direct-care and support staff. We provide services to 6 rural counties with several locations. We strive to provide the highest quality, evidence-based services in the least restrictive settings. Georgia Pines Behavioral Health Crisis Unit is currently seeking someone who has the passion, commitment, talent, and ability to work collaboratively with their peers to continue to advance the mission and vision of the organization. Primary duties include assessing client health problems and needs. Develops and implements nursing care plans and maintains medical records. Administers nursing care. May advise clients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management, reading Physician orders, administering injections, performing Aims with order, obtaining weight and vitals, drawing labs utilizing computerized Lab Corp requisition, assisting in ordering medical supplies, assisting with creating monthly nursing schedule. Good communication skills with the Medical Services team and community is required. This position is an integral part of the agency's Medical Services program and reports directly to the Medical Services Supervisor with appropriate latitude for utilizing seasoned judgment to accomplish his/her responsibilities.

Requirements

High School diploma/GED
Completion of an LPN Program through an approved Georgia Nursing Board, or Vocational/Technical degree from an accredited college
Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse
Six months of nursing experience
