About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Crisis Center RN Manager, the LPHA performs clinical activities including independent assessments and service interventions as directed by the recovery plan and/or identified client needs. In coordination with the RN on duty, and the psychiatrist, determines eligibility for admission to the Crisis Center (involuntary extended observation unit and voluntary crisis residential unit.) This position may provide assessments, crisis intervention, skills training, case management, case monitoring and psychotherapy in the Crisis Center. Monitors client progress with treatment goals to determine effectiveness of interventions until goals are achieved. Actively participates in client staffing's to determine best treatment for recovery. The position provides care to individuals with a mental illness and/or a co-occurring substance use/abuse diagnosis along with individuals with a dual diagnosis of mental illness and intellectual or developmental disability. Reports directly to the Crisis Center RN Manager. PRN staff work as needed with flexibility to meet program needs. PRN staff are expected to work at least of one shift per month, including a 12 hour weekend shift. Responsible and accountable for the adherence to and promotion of the compliance policy.

Requirements

  • Independent license as LPC or LCSW
  • Texas driver’s license in good standing as defined by Texana Center’s procedure
  • Minimum 2 years mental health experience post masters.

  • Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
  • Spanish speaking
