About The Position

Abraham Joshua Heschel School is currently seeking a temporary Science Teacher to join the Lower School team. This position will teach science classes for students in grades 1-5. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s strongly preferred) in Science, Education, or a related field, as well as experience teaching students in grades 1-5. Candidates should have enthusiasm for science education as well as strong classroom management and communication skills. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s strongly preferred) in Science, Education, or a related field
• Experience teaching students in grades 1-5
• Enthusiasm for science education
• Strong classroom management skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States
• Ability to complete required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire

Responsibilities

• Leading daily science lessons for grades 1-5 in the Science Lab
• Collaborating with the Lower School Assistant Head in following the Science Curriculum scope per grade
• Collaborating with other subject specialists
• Coverage of informal times of day (lunch, recess, etc.)
