Marymount School of New York seeks a part-time Lower School Psychologist or Counselor to support students in Early Childhood through Class II. Reporting to the Lower School Divisional Head, the Lower School Counselor serves as an integral member of the school’s health and wellness team and supports the social-emotional well-being of students through direct support, collaboration with colleagues, and partnership with families. The ideal candidate is warm, collaborative, and student-centered, with a deep understanding of early childhood and elementary development. This role requires a thoughtful clinician who sees the gifts in each child, approaches children with curiosity and care, and partners closely with colleagues and families to support each child’s growth. The successful candidate will be a visible and engaged presence in the Lower School community, communicate effectively with families and faculty, and employ a wide range of strategies to support students in a school setting. The anticipated schedule follows the academic calendar and is approximately 8:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. each school day (including a 30-minute break for lunch), with flexibility for occasional meetings or crisis support as needed.
