About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Lowbed CDL A Driver to safely and efficiently transport heavy construction equipment using lowbed trailers. If you are a skilled driver with a strong commitment to safety and compliance, we want you on our team immediately. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of DOT regulations and securement procedures, with the ability to independently load and unload a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, and loaders.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 1 year of dedicated lowbed or heavy haul experience.
  • Proven experience hauling and securing heavy construction equipment.
  • Deep understanding of DOT, HOS, and strict load securement requirements.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, or weekends depending on project needs.
  • Physically able to lift heavy chains/binders, climb, kneel, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to read and understand maps, GPS, permits, and load instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience handling oversize and overweight loads.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
  • Mechanical aptitude for basic troubleshooting on the road.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a Class A commercial vehicle with a lowbed trailer to transport heavy equipment to and from job sites safely.
  • Safely load, secure, and unload equipment using chains, binders, and other tie-down methods in strict accordance with FMCSA regulations.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer; perform basic maintenance or report mechanical issues promptly.
  • Ensure all transport documents, permits, and logs are accurately completed and submitted on time.
  • Maintain full compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including DOT and Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
  • Partner effectively with dispatch, customers, managers, and equipment operators regarding scheduling and delivery expectations.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Assist with equipment operation or general yard duties as needed.
