About The Position

EquipmentShare is seeking a Low Voltage Technician, also known as a Telematics Installer, to join their team at their rental facility in Angleton, TX. This role is crucial in installing and repairing the company's telematics systems and devices on various vehicles and equipment. Requirements

  • Proficient with iPhone/mobile phone technology and basic computer navigation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Trade School Certificate preferred).
  • Mechanical aptitude, good with hands and tools.
  • Hard-working, eager to learn, and mechanically inclined.
  • Experience in a related field (e.g., electrician, HVAC tech, car audio installer, Mobile Electronics Installer, Automotive Electronics Technician, 12V Technician).
  • Own tools; a few specialty tools will be provided.
  • Hard worker with excellent attention to detail.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
  • Open to traveling within a 250-mile radius of the local branch for up to a week at a time.
  • Ability to drive, maneuver in tight spaces, bend, squat, walk long distances, and lift more than 25 lbs.
  • May be required to be clean-shaven to enter customer worksites.
  • Must pass a 10-panel drug screen for this safety-sensitive position.

  • Prior experience in the telematics industry is not necessary; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Install the telematics system and devices on vehicles, construction equipment, heavy equipment, and customer assets.
  • Operate machinery at times during installation for testing purposes.
  • Remove and replace ignition systems, integrating communication between keypad and telematics systems.
  • Work through various installation scenarios, from basic power, ignition, and ground connections to complex custom wiring harnesses for CAN network access.
  • Identify and resolve problems, gather and analyze information, and develop alternative solutions.
  • Travel to client sites or EquipmentShare rental yards within the region for installation cases.
  • Serve as an advocate for the EquipmentShare platform of solutions and brand.
