About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team. This role involves performing testing and certification of installed components, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing systems. You will diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to identify and correct issues. The job includes inspecting material for quality before installation, installing various types of cable (network, Fire Alarm, Access Control, wireless), and pulling/routing cable in commercial environments. You will also be responsible for terminating Jacks (Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A). A strong emphasis is placed on performing daily tasks safely in accordance with company policies, including adherence to all health, safety, and company regulations, and demonstrating thorough familiarity with current client, company, and OSHA safety standards. The ability to work cooperatively and maintain a positive, professional manner is essential. Other duties as assigned may include working extended hours, weekends, and holidays, with compensation based on Fair Labor Standards Act guidelines.

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ experience in skilled electrical, low voltage work
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be versatile with Fire Alarm, Telecommunications, and Access Control Systems
  • Ability to read blueprints; and knowledge of electrical applications
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques for performing skilled electrical work
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques for storing equipment, materials, and supplies
  • Ability to work and communicate well in a team setting with a Safety First Mindset
  • Must successfully complete and pass a background check and drug/alcohol testing

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing and certification of installed components

  • Perform daily tasks in a safe manner in accordance with company policies
