About The Position

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Low Voltage Technician for a three-month contract assignment in Childress, Texas. The technician will assist with the installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low-voltage cabling and related systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with low-voltage wiring, cable routing, equipment installation, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and a commitment to completing projects on schedule.

Requirements

Previous experience in low-voltage installation, telecommunications, structured cabling, or a related field preferred.
Familiarity with cable pulling, termination, labeling, and testing.
Ability to use common hand tools and cable-testing equipment.
Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and installation plans.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Reliable attendance and ability to work a full-time schedule.
Ability to lift equipment and materials and work from ladders or in confined spaces when required.

Responsibilities

Install, route, label, terminate, and test low-voltage cables.
Install and maintain network cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, and other applicable cabling systems.
Assist with installing telecommunications, security, access control, and other low-voltage equipment as required.
Read and follow installation drawings, wiring diagrams, and project specifications.
Troubleshoot cabling issues and resolve installation deficiencies.
Use hand tools, cable testers, and other installation equipment safely and effectively.
Maintain accurate cable labeling and documentation.
Follow applicable safety procedures, electrical codes, and project requirements.
Keep work areas clean and organized.
Coordinate with project supervisors and other trades to meet project deadlines.
