About The Position

This role offers structured paid training, hands-on experience, and mentorship, setting technicians up for long-term success in a growing and recession-resistant industry. As a Residential Security Technician, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and troubleshooting home security systems. After completing a paid multi-week training program, you will work independently in customers’ homes to install and program security equipment while delivering a high level of customer service.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn a skilled trade
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools (drill, screwdrivers, wire cutters, etc.)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Punctual, dependable, and professional demeanor
  • Comfortable working independently in customers’ homes
  • Ability to pass a BGC and drug screening
  • Must be able to obtain a New York State Security License (fingerprinting required post-offer)

Responsibilities

  • Install and program burglar alarm systems, CCTV systems (IP & analog), DVRs, and basic access control equipment
  • Install door and window contacts, motion sensors, glass break detectors, smoke detectors, and other add-on components
  • Troubleshoot system, wiring, and connectivity issues as needed
  • Educate customers on the proper use of their security system and mobile applications
  • Complete job documentation, inventory tracking, and equipment verification accurately
  • Maintain a professional presence in customers’ homes at all times
  • Ensure installations are completed correctly the first time to avoid return visits (“go-backs”)
  • Follow company installation standards, safety guidelines, and quality expectations
