About The Position

Tribal One Construction is seeking a skilled and dependable Low Voltage Technician to support construction projects in the Charleston, South Carolina area. This position focuses on the installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting of low‑voltage systems on federal construction projects , which may include work on active military installations . The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, safety‑focused, and comfortable working in secure environments with strict compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Low Voltage or Limited Energy Technician
  • Experience with structured cabling and low‑voltage system installations
  • Ability to pass federal background checks , drug screening , and obtain base access clearance
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders/lifts, and perform work above ceilings
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on federal or military construction projects
  • BICSI, manufacturer, or industry certifications (a plus)
  • Fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting experience
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Responsibilities

  • Install, pull, terminate, label, and test low‑voltage cabling including CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optic cable
  • Install and support systems such as data/voice, access control, CCTV, security, and other limited‑energy systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, floor plans, and specifications
  • Build and organize telecom rooms, racks, patch panels, and cable pathways
  • Perform system testing and assist with troubleshooting and commissioning
  • Follow all OSHA, company, and federal safety requirements
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and as‑built drawings
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, superintendents, and other trades
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized job site
  • Comply with all federal site access requirements, including military base protocols
