About The Position

Our Client is seeking entry‑level Cable Technicians to support installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of communications and electrical equipment at central offices, data centers, and customer sites. This is a great opportunity for candidates looking to start or grow a career in telecommunications, cabling, or low‑voltage work with hands‑on training and real field experience.

Requirements

  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Ability to read, write, and understand work documents in English
  • Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division; fractions and decimals)
  • Ability to solve simple equations
  • Experience or exposure in an electrical‑related field
  • High School Diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Structured cabling
  • Cable technician or telecom experience
  • Low‑voltage systems
  • Rack and stack
  • Coax and wire cabling
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems
  • Ability to use test equipment and read schematics
  • Hands‑on technical or field experience
  • Certificate or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronic fields (preferred, not required)
  • Willingness to travel overnight and be on‑call as needed
  • Ability and willingness to operate a forklift
  • Comfortable working in plant, warehouse, and data center environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching
  • Ability to differentiate colors
  • Must wear PPE at all times
  • Must pass: Drug screen BGC Driving record check

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites to install, repair, and maintain cable and electrical equipment
  • Perform cable pulling, termination, punch‑down, and basic installations
  • Replace defective parts and assist with repairing batteries and related equipment
  • Install new equipment according to specifications to ensure full functionality
  • Provide on‑site technical support and basic troubleshooting
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including service reports and maintenance logs
  • Operate material‑handling equipment in compliance with OSHA standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams
  • Participate in required compliance and job‑specific training
  • Safely manage company assets such as tools, test equipment, and service vehicles
  • Work independently with minimal supervision once trained
