About The Position

Adams, Inc. is seeking a Low Voltage Technician to join their Residential SmartHome Electrical team in Elkhorn, WI. This role involves the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced low-voltage lighting and control systems in residential and light commercial environments. The position emphasizes Lutron Ketra intelligent lighting systems, integrated with RadioRA 3 and HomeWorks platforms, ensuring work meets codes, safety standards, and client design intent for a premium lighting experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • 2+ years of low-voltage experience
  • Ability to interpret lighting plans, elevations, and control schematics
  • Knowledge of NEC and applicable low-voltage installations

Nice To Haves

  • technical school or associate degree preferred
  • preference for Lutron lighting control systems
  • 5+ years preferred experience with low-voltage
  • Hands-on experience with Lutron Ketra, RadioRA 3, and/or HomeWorks strongly preferred
  • Understanding of tunable white and full-spectrum lighting concepts
  • Lutron certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • OSHA 10/30 certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Install and commission low-voltage lighting systems in compliance with NEC, NFPA, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Follow Lutron installation standards for Ketra fixtures, power supplies, drivers, and control components.
  • Complete accurate documentation including as-built drawings, system configurations, and commissioning records.
  • Collaborate with homeowners, designers, project managers, and electricians to deliver integrated lighting solutions.
  • Provide client education on lighting scenes, dimming, and system operation.
  • Participate in ongoing training for Lutron Ketra, RadioRA 3, and HomeWorks systems.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure proper integration of lighting controls, window treatments, AV, and other low-voltage systems.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders regarding installation progress, scheduling, and system performance.
  • Support system handoff and long-term service relationships with clients.
  • Demonstrate adaptability when working with evolving technologies and design-driven installations.
  • Approach troubleshooting with a solution-focused mindset.
  • Maintain a professional, positive demeanor on job sites and in occupied homes.
  • Perform high-quality installations of Ketra downlights, lamps, tape lighting, and track systems.
  • Commission intelligent lighting systems including scene setup, color temperature tuning, and wireless pairing.
  • Troubleshoot system faults related to controls, power distribution, networking, and fixtures.
  • Protect and properly utilize company tools, testing equipment, and programming devices.
  • Represent the company professionally in all residential and commercial environments.
  • Build trust through reliability, workmanship, and respect for client properties.
