Low Voltage Technician

Amplify PeopleVirginia Beach, VA
$27 - $37Onsite

About The Position

We are hiring a Low Voltage Technician to install and service security, AV, lighting control, and networking systems across residential and commercial projects throughout the Virginia Beach region. This is a hands-on installation role for someone who can add value from day one. You should be comfortable pulling and terminating wire, building and installing racks, mounting and configuring devices, and working through an install without someone standing over your shoulder. We're looking for real field installation experience, whether that came from the security and alarm side, the AV and integration side, or a mix of both. A Virginia Journeyman Electrician license is a strong plus, but it is not required.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated hands-on field installation experience in security/alarm, AV integration, or low voltage systems.
  • Ability to pull and terminate low voltage cable to a clean, reliable standard.
  • Comfortable working independently on an assigned scope without direct supervision.
  • Experience installing and configuring devices such as alarm panels, cameras, access control, racks, or control hardware.
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts and a willingness to learn adjacent systems.
  • Professional, client-appropriate presence in occupied homes and businesses.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Virginia Journeyman Electrician license.
  • Experience with Alarm.com and Qolsys security platforms.
  • Access control installation experience.
  • Exposure to Control4, Lutron HomeWorks, or comparable control and lighting platforms.
  • Networking experience with Araknis, Ubiquiti, UniFi, or similar.
  • Electrical background or interest in pursuing electrical licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling for security, AV, lighting control, and network systems.
  • Install and configure alarm panels, cameras, access control hardware, and related security devices.
  • Build, dress, and install equipment racks; mount and connect displays, speakers, keypads, and control hardware.
  • Install and support lighting control and shading systems alongside the integration team.
  • Set up and troubleshoot networking equipment on job sites.
  • Work independently through assigned scopes of work and troubleshoot issues in the field.
  • Coordinate on site with the integration team, electricians, builders, and other trades.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners and commercial clients, including basic system orientation and handoffs.
  • Complete accurate job documentation and maintain vehicle stock and tools.
  • Pursue and maintain manufacturer and platform certifications provided by the company.

Benefits

  • 50% Company-paid Health Insurance
  • 100% Company-paid Dental and Vision Insurance
  • Access to Group Life Insurance
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Paid Company Holidays
  • Company Vehicle Provided
