About The Position

Low voltage technicians work in a team environment to meet project objectives. They must have a great attitude, be dependable, willing to learn and take directions and are reliable on the job site. In this role you will be completing both ISP and OSP work. LINX designs, installs, and supports commercial network cabling for data centers, multimedia, security, and wireless systems. Requirements

  • Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools
  • Ability to lift/carry/setup a 50 pound box or ladder
  • Must own low voltage tools (strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches)
  • Able to work 2nd/3rd shift, overtime, and under pressure.
  • Must pass a 7-year background check, drug screen, and physical.
  • Requires valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance
  • Commercial construction experience preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial low voltage installation experience (for Tech 2)
  • Able to terminate a jack, pull cable and “work a 90” proficiently with limited supervision (for Tech 2)
  • Can install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables proficiently (for Tech 2)
  • Ability to build out MDF and IDF closets including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware with supervision (for Tech 2)
  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial low voltage installation experience (for Tech 3)
  • Able to terminate a jack, pull cable and “work a 90” proficiently with no supervision (for Tech 3)
  • Can install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables with no supervision (for Tech 3)

  • Professional working proficiency in English

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with industry standards.
  • Build, install, and maintain MDFs and IDFs, including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware, while troubleshooting low voltage cable systems.
  • Perform cable pulling, suspension, fireproofing, termination, and testing in accordance with BICSI standards, NEC, and local regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, maintain professionalism and strong communication skills to resolve technical issues and provide solutions.
  • Ensure high-quality, organized, and professional workmanship on all installations to meet project specifications and exceed customer expectations.
  • Travel to job sites anywhere within your state, may also be required to travel within the USA
