About The Position

Superior Communication Services is hiring an experienced Low Voltage Foreman to lead structured cabling and security installation crews on commercial jobsites. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can run a crew, read a blueprint, and hold a job to a high standard from start to finish. We work with industry-leading manufacturers including Panduit, Legrand, CommScope, Belden, and Corning - experience with these product lines is a strong plus.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of low voltage or structured cabling experience, including lead/foreman-level experience
  • Hands-on experience with Cat6/Cat6A termination and fiber optic installation (splicing/termination)
  • Experience with telecom room/data closet buildouts and rack & stack of network equipment
  • Familiarity with RG6/RG11 coax installation and distribution
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting existing cable plant infrastructure
  • Familiarity with Panduit, Legrand, CommScope, Belden, or Corning product systems
  • Experience with security systems: CCTV, access control, and IP-based camera installation a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and low voltage specs
  • Working knowledge of NEC and local low voltage code requirements
  • Comfortable using cable testers/certifiers (Fluke DSX or equivalent)
  • Strong leadership skills - comfortable running a crew and holding people accountable, like a team captain who keeps everyone moving in the same direction
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • BICSI certification (RCDD, Installer 1/2, or Technician) preferred, not required
  • Willingness to travel for projects (50% Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a field crew on structured cabling and security installation projects
  • Run daily job planning: material staging, crew assignments, and site logistics
  • Plan and execute telecom/data room (MDF/IDF) buildouts, including rack elevations and layout
  • Rack and stack network equipment: servers, switches, patch panels, and patch cabling
  • Install, terminate, and test Cat6/Cat6A copper cabling and single-mode/multi-mode fiber optic systems
  • Run and terminate RG6/RG11 coax for video and distribution systems
  • Perform cable plant maintenance, troubleshooting, and moves/adds/changes (MACs) on existing infrastructure
  • Perform cable certification testing (Fluke or similar) and troubleshoot failed links
  • Work with structured cabling components from Panduit, Legrand, CommScope, Belden, and Corning
  • Install and terminate fiber using fusion splicing and/or mechanical connectors
  • Read and work from blueprints, riser diagrams, BICSI-standard designs, and project specs
  • Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades on site
  • Maintain quality control, code compliance, and jobsite safety standards
  • Train and mentor junior technicians and installers
