About The Position

The Low Voltage (LV) Basic Installer is responsible for the installation, service, and repair of basic infrastructure and various equipment. This is an entry level position which requires classroom and on-the-job training as instructed by the LV Manager. The position will require travel and stay over as work sites require. This position also requires a positive and contributing team member.

Requirements

  • Basic installation knowledge (mechanics, Low Voltage electrical circuitry, power tools, and basic computer literacy).
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Customer service skills, including the ability to follow up to ensure closure of issues.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to methodically approach problems to resolve the problem.
  • Candidate must have the ability to resolve customer issues while maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Must possess the ability to read and comprehend written technical information in the form of technical manuals, parts books, and relevant publications.

Responsibilities

  • Performs full range of installations and connections of infrastructure which will include: Copper communication cable, fiber optic cable, physical security hardware, and wireless products.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs or replaces equipment components as necessary
  • Maintains and manages own inventory
  • Meets or exceeds appropriate productivity standards relative to assigned products as outlined by manager
  • Responsible for the maintenance and protection of company property
  • Completes all required administrative tasks (paperwork) in an accurate and timely manner
  • Must be proficient in access control
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Must complete all assigned certifications
  • Under close supervision of manager, follow company training programs, policies, and guidelines.
  • Demonstrate appropriate mechanical skills for the repair and service of designated equipment in compliance of professional industry standards.
  • Attend scheduled training to acquire or increase working knowledge of Basic Low Voltage communication and security networks.
  • Receive direction and perform assignments relative to the installation and repair of connectivity products and equipment at customer locations and/or shop facility.
  • Install all equipment modifications and accessories on assigned equipment
  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction with both our products and services.
  • Understand and utilize problem escalation procedures and communication.
  • Maintain productive and professional relationships with all GFI employees, customers, and vendors.
