About The Position

The Low Voltage Installer performs hands-on installation of low-voltage infrastructure on data center projects, including structured cabling, fiber optic, and closet buildout. The Installer will work under the direction of the Foreman. The Installer executes daily tasks safely and to spec, keeps accurate records of completed work, and flags issues in the field before they become schedule or quality problems.

Requirements

  • 0-1 years low-voltage installation experience preferred; will train motivated entry-level candidates
  • Basic knowledge of structured cabling and/or fiber optic installation practices
  • Ability to read basic construction/low-voltage drawings, or willingness to learn
  • Comfortable working at heights, in tight spaces, and around active construction/data center environments
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/work for extended periods
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a crew
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to pass an onsite drug test

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 certification preferred, or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Install structured cabling, fiber optic cable, pathways (ladder rack, J-hooks), and terminations per drawings and specifications
  • Pull, route, dress, label, and terminate cable to BICSI and project quality standards
  • Read and follow low-voltage drawings, riser diagrams, and work orders
  • Set up and break down work areas, tools, and materials daily
  • Follow all site safety protocols, PPE requirements, and data center access/security procedures
  • Report daily progress, completed work, and material usage to the Foreman clearly and on time
  • Immediately flag any drawing discrepancies, damaged materials, or access issues to the Foreman
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with crew members, other trades, and site personnel
  • Identify field conditions that don’t match drawings and raise them before proceeding
  • Troubleshoot basic installation issues (routing conflicts, termination problems) and know when to escalate
  • Suggest practical fixes to the Foreman when a task can’t be completed as planned
